            Abstract
            Vorliegende Arbeit beleuchtet bisher unbeachtete oder unbekanntere Aspekte des Babylonischen Talmuds. Ziel ist die Erschließung des bislang nicht beachteten Humors als Coping-Mechanismus in rabbinischer Zeit (70 – ca. 1000 n. d. Z.). Dazu werden zentrale Texte aus dem Babylonischen Talmud (bGittin 55b-58a, bAvoda Zara 16a-19b und bBerakhot 61b) in einem umfangreichen und bislang in dieser Tiefendimension nicht vorhandenen Close Reading analysiert. Das Hauptaugenmerk liegt dabei auf Texten, die alle gewaltbehafteten Ereignisse (auf mit Humor angereicherte Art) zusammenfassen, die den Juden bis zum 2. Jh. n. d. Z. widerfuhren, und die von der Tempelzerstörung (70 n. d. Z.) bis zu der hadrianischen Verfolgung (132/136 – 138 n. d. Z.) reichen.
