Abstract

The book investigates the role of Christianity in the 20th- and 21st-century modernization process with the focus on one of the main pillars of the welfare state projects: schools and education. The book has a comparative approach and will shed light upon school and education in 20th- and 21st-century Norway, Sweden and Netherlands. Central themes are curriculums, textbooks, politicians and political debates.
