    Abstract
    Loin de reproduire de pièce en pièce, comme cela lui a souvent été reproché, une éternelle surprise de l’amour, Marivaux a bâti une œuvre théâtrale protéiforme aux multiples contours. Tout regroupement inédit à l’intérieur du corpus théâtral fait apparaître de nouvelles lignes de force, de nouveaux liens avec les textes narratifs, qui mettent à mal le cliché de l’uniformité et de la répétition. Lorsque dialoguent La Double Inconstance, La Fausse suivante et La Dispute, la dramaturgie de l’inconstance se substitue à la « machine matrimoniale », donnant l’image d’un théâtre dans lequel relations humaines et sociales se tendent et se durcissent. Cette dramaturgie se nourrit de manipulation et de mensonge qui menacent la comédie et le comique, questionnent l’identité jusqu’au trouble, transforment les amours idéales en guerre des sexes ou en conquêtes financières.

    Export search results
