            L’Europe en automobile : Octave Mirbeau écrivain voyageur

            Abstract
            Lorsqu'en 1907, Octave Mirbeau fait paraître La 628-E8, récit d'un voyage en automobile à travers l'Europe, il suscite aussitôt le scandale : un chapitre consacré à la mort de Balzac - qui sera retiré -, un éloge des Allemands, au moment où le patriotisme est devenu nationalisme, une célébration, futuriste, de la vitesse et de sa violence. S'achevant à Strasbourg, ce récit de voyage a réuni, cent ans après, à l'Université Marc-Bloch de Strasbourg, une trentaine de chercheurs, pour les uns spécialistes de Mirbeau, pour les autres, comparatistes ou historiens d'art. L'œuvre européenne de Mirbeau a ainsi trouvé sa place, à la frontière des pays et des genres.

            Export search results
