            Industrialisation et société dans l’Inde du Nord

            Abstract
            Cet ouvrage se propose d’étudier les facteurs de résistance à l’industrialisation dans la société de l’Inde du Nord, région représentant une culture en transition, du système traditionnel et pré-industriel au système industriel. Après une introduction définissant le problème, il discute de la structure sociale traditionnelle en tant qu’obstacle à l’amélioration du niveau de vie. Il s’intéresse ensuite à la résistance et aux effets de retardement provenant de la survivance du système des castes et entreprend un examen de la survivance de la caste d’un point de vue psychologique, signalant les conceptions entraînant pour le moins un manque de coopération active avec les efforts d’industrialisation. Il étudie enfin la structure traditionnelle des attitudes et des valeurs vis-à-vis de l’industrialisation.

            Export search results
