Social work professionals are among the most important actors in migrant and refugee integration. Many new tasks have emerged in this field, which are heavily influenced by immigration and asylum legislation. As a result, integration practice has become extremely demanding. In this politically sensitive and sometimes contradictory field of action, social work must position itself while maintaining its professional ethos and maxims. How does it relate to social discourses on migration, integration, mobility and flight? What role does social work play in the implementation of integration policy? What direction does it take between human rights and increasingly restrictive integration and migration laws? The anthology offers a well-founded orientation to legal and political contexts and sheds light on central terms. It critically discusses theories and concepts and delves into various practice fields of migration and refugee-related social work.
