Two Contemporary Philosophers Ten Brilliant Debates with Their Full Commitment “Many things that ordinary people take for granted, my philosophical mind makes me question.”

Is the world getting better? Is democracy really that great? Why should we be good people? How important is luck? Is death frightening?

This book is a faithful record of ten written exchanges between philosophy professors Wai-hung Wong and Chong-fuk Lau. Although the discussions are not for competing or winning, both philosophers engage with full effort to clarify and argue for their own views. Some of the major questions discussed may not seem philosophical at first glance, but the process of discussion reveals their philosophical dimensions. The dialogue format naturally prompts readers to think: “Why didn’t I think of that before?” “So is this way of thinking flawless?” “How would I refute that if it were me?” Readers are indirectly invited to join the debate.
