Abstract

The volume offers 532 biographies of Spanish law professors who were appointed and took office in the period between the post-war period and the University Reform Law of 1983. The voices collect data on the life, training, academic career and other activities and merits of the personage. They are preceded by a study that contextualises the performance of the professorship: the appearance of the departments, the new faculties with legal teaching, the suppression of doctorate chairs, the multiplication of universities, the disappearance of the body's ranks, the first women professors, the integration of associate professors into the body of professors, etc. The edition refers to the online digital version available at <https://www.uc3m.es/diccionariodecatedraticos> and to a dataset available at <https://doi.org/10.21950/VCCDKT> which allows the use of this tool that goes beyond mere biography and facilitates research into prosopography, networks, disciplines, etc.

El volumen ofrece 532 biografías de catedráticas y catedráticos españoles de Derecho que fueron nombrados y tomaron posesión en el periodo que trascurre entre la posguerra y la Ley de Reforma Universitaria de 1983. La voces recogen datos de vida, la formación, la carrera académica y otras actividades y méritos del personaje. Están precedidas de un estudio que contextualiza el desempeño de la cátedra: la aparición de los departamentos, las nuevas facultades con enseñanzas jurídicas, la supresión de las cátedras del doctorado, la multiplicación de universidades, la desaparición de los escalafones del cuerpo, las primeras mujeres catedráticas, la integración de los profesores agregados en el cuerpo de catedráticos, etc. La edición se remite a la versión digital en línea disponible en <https://www.uc3m.es/diccionariodecatedraticos> y a un conjunto de datos disponible en <https://doi.org/10.21950/VCCDKT> que permite una utilización de este instrumento que trasciende la mera biografía y facilita adentrarse en investigaciones de prosopografía, redes, disciplinas, etc.
