Chapter Logistics and its smart dimension in smart city development
Abstract
Green transition is nowadays a multidimensional research context. In economic practice, it is observed by researchers, for example, through the prism of green practices. The implementation of such practices in the day-to-day functioning of actors takes place in various areas of the economy. In this chapter, the research focus on green practices is directed towards the transport and logistics industry. There are two complementary research objectives. The first research objective was to identify, based on the FOB online database, green practices from 2020-2022 undertaken by transport and logistics industry actors. In turn, the second aim of the research was to identify, based on the selected green practices, the key areas of their objective and subjective approach. The analyses conducted led to the identification of 37 green practices. It was also observed that green practices can take different forms and directions. A common feature of green practices is that they can contribute to green competence development among employees.
