SpanishAbstract
This study focuses on analyzing the treaty of epistemology from the perspective of scientific hilorrealism, using quantitative research in the field of higher education. It arises from the complex situation facing scientific, epistemological, and philosophical knowledge, especially in relation to subjective realism, the excessive use of scientific tools leading to anti-realism, and the proliferation of pseudoscience. This phenomenon obscures the understanding of hilorrealism as proposed by Bunge. There is also observed a loss of focus by researchers and social scientists on the fundamental aspects of science. This study has a conceptual approach in the treaty of epistemology, emphasizing its attention to scientific knowledge and performing three main functions: description, critique, and guidance, in line with scientific realism equivalent to hilorrealism, from a holistic philosophical-scientific perspective. Its outcome is grounded in ontological realism, which posits the independent existence of the external world; epistemological realism, which argues that reality is knowable and improvable; semantic realism, which emphasizes that science symbolically describes selected aspects of reality; and other dimensions such as methodological realism and axiological realism. It also leads towards a holistic approach, which will ensure quantitative research of facts rather than appearances and fictions in a deceptive and fleeting reality, as we are witnessing.
