| dc.description.abstract | The fundamental biochemical principles that govern the development of plants are established, exploring the composition and structure of their cells. In addition, photosynthesis as an essential metabolic process is addressed. The metabolism of biomolecules, which includes the transport of nutrients and the synthesis of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and other compounds, is analyzed in depth. Crucial topics such as cellular respiration in plants, biosynthesis of secondary metabolites and the role of plant hormones in growth and development are also addressed. Plant enzymology, with emphasis on enzyme kinetics, is presented as an essential component of plant metabolism. In addition, plant defense mechanisms against abiotic and biotic stresses are examined, addressing morphogenesis and the challenges plants face in their environment. The book concludes with a look into the future of plant biochemistry research. | en_US |

| en_US |
