oapen.abstract.otherlanguageMonografija je nastala kot rezultat delovanja Centra odličnosti F.A.B.R.I.C.A., v okviru katerega si je Znanstvenoraziskovalni center SAZU kot nosilna inštitucija, v povezavi z zunanjimi partnerji (Trimo Trebnje, Kovod Postojna, Postojnska jama, DFG Consulting, Skupina Futura), zastavila za cilj zagotoviti strokovne podlage za smotrni regionalni razvoj in učinkovito varovanje biotske raznovrstnosti. Monografija je izvirno interdisciplinarno znanstveno delo več kot desetih avtorjev, nastala kot strokovna podlaga za načrtovanje trajnostnega gospodarjenja s kulturno in naravno pokrajino jugozahodne Slovenije. Delo sestavlja več sklopov samostojnih znanstvenih prispevkov s področja biologije, etnologije, geografije, geologije, krasoslovja, kulturne zgodovine, arhitekture, prostorskih študij.
