oapen.abstract.otherlanguageKnjiga ugotavlja količino, potek, načine in vzroke izseljevanja Slovencev v Afriko in na Arabski polotok ter opisuje predvsem sedanje stanje. Prinaša prvi splošen prerez s kvantitativnimi podatki, kvalitativno analizo ter dokumentarnim gradivom. Besedilo se osredotoči na tri oziroma pet držav: Egipt, Južnoafriško republiko, Kenijo, pa tudi Jordanijo in Izrael – predvsem zato, ker se ob vendarle opaznejšem številu slovenskih izseljencev tam kažejo tudi zametki njihove organiziranosti z namenom zavestnega, načrtnega in celo formalnega ohranjanja slovenske kulturne oziroma narodne identitete.
