Internal assessment by the Press staff. <BR> 2. Assessment by the Series editor and a member of our Editorial Board. <BR> 3. If it fits with our publishing program and has scholarly merit, it goes to two external reviewers who are knowledgeable in the subject area (this can take 3-4 months). <BR> 4. Blind copies of the external reviews are provided to the author/editor who then prepares a response. <BR> 5. The evaluations and the response are provided to the Series editor for comment. <BR> 6. All material is provided to the Editorial Board for discussion. The Board makes a decision to publish, reject, revise and resubmit, or some variation of these.*
