| dc.description.abstract | This volume focuses on the circulation of words, objects and legal-administrative practices in pre-modern Europe, with particular attention to how the study of language and history can work together to shed new light on this subject. Historians, linguists, legal historians and art historians provide methodological perspectives and case studies. The topics discussed include the spread of common law in Europe, the impact of works of art and architecture on culture and administration, and the relationship between law and language, for example in translations. A special attention is also dedicated to the domain of electoral procedures, with a look at communal Italy, at the reception of the Venetian model throughout Europe and at the challenge of studying the cultural transfer of such practices. | en_US |

Storici, linguisti, storici del diritto e storici dell’arte presentano riflessioni metodologiche e casi di studio. Tra i temi toccati ci sono la circolazione della cultura giuridica, specie nell’ambito delle procedure elettorali, la diffusione del diritto comune in Europa, l’impatto delle opere d’arte e di architettura sulla cultura e sull’amministrazione, il rapporto tra diritto e lingua, ad esempio nelle traduzioni. Ci si concentra in particolare sulle procedure elettorali, con riferimento all’Italia comunale e alla ricezione del modello veneziano in Europa e alle questioni connesse allo studio dei transfer culturali in questo ambito. | en_US |
