| publisher.program | Edições P.PORTO, through its Politema and Poli_fonia imprints, is committed to fostering culture, knowledge, and innovation across scientific, technical, artistic, and educational fields. Emphasizing the democratization of knowledge, it follows an Open Access publishing model, making its publications freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 license (CC BY-NC 4.0). The editorial policy prioritizes the publication of high-quality academic, technical, and pedagogical works that contribute significantly to education and research. The focus areas include textbooks, teaching materials, and research publications in disciplines such as Arts, Business Sciences, Education and Sports, Engineering and Technology, Hospitality and Tourism, Health, and Media Arts and Design. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer-review process, evaluated by at least two external experts approved by the Editorial Board, ensuring originality, scientific rigor, and relevance. No fees are charged to authors for submission, processing, or publication, reinforcing Edições P.PORTO’s mission of providing unrestricted access to academic knowledge. The peer review process begins with the submission of a proposal, which is first reviewed by the Editorial Board. Upon approval, the full manuscript is submitted, along with two suggested reviewers from the field. The Editorial Board assesses the manuscript’s scope, structure, and scientific quality before selecting and approving reviewers. The open peer-review process ensures transparency, with authors receiving feedback on acceptance, rejection, or required revisions. If necessary, the manuscript is returned to the author for adjustments before final approval. Once the peer-review process is complete, the manuscript undergoes formatting and editing by the Gabinete de Comunicação e Imagem before being sent to the author for final approval and publication. Edições P.PORTO ensures broad accessibility and dissemination of its publications. Open Access publications are freely available online at edicoes.ipp.pt, while printed editions may be available for purchase through the Edições P.PORTO physical bookstore and partner distributors. | en_US |

| publisher.peerreviewpolicy | The proposal submission process begins with authors submitting a proposal of up to 2000 words, which is initially reviewed by two designated member of the Editorial Board. The proposal is then discussed and formally approved by the entire Editorial Board in a dedicated meeting. Upon approval, the full manuscript is submitted for further evaluation. During the editorial assessment, the Editorial Board conducts an initial review to ensure that the manuscript aligns with the editorial scope, structure, and academic standards. If necessary, the manuscript may be returned to the author for revisions before proceeding to the peer review stage. As part of the reviewer selection process, authors may suggest two expert reviewers in their field. The Editorial Board evaluates these suggestions and either approves the proposed reviewers or selects alternative experts based on their academic reputation and expertise. Manuscripts undergo an open peer review process, where the identities of both reviewers and authors are disclosed. At least two independent external reviewers assess the manuscript, providing feedback on its scientific rigor, originality, methodology, and contribution to the field. Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editorial Board makes a final decision, which may include accepting the manuscript with minor or no revisions, requesting revisions for further improvements, or rejecting the manuscript if it does not meet the required academic standards. In cases where revisions are necessary, authors submit a revised version along with a response to the reviewers’ comments. Following peer review approval, the manuscript undergoes final formatting and editing by the Gabinete de Comunicação e Imagem. The final version is then sent to the author for approval before publication. | en_US |
