publisher.programPublication process By Article 2 of Law 1286 of 2009 on the importance of disseminating knowledge and research, as identified in the Research Statute regarding the relevance of intellectual production, Disposition 013 of 2024 came into force. This regulation establishes the Editorial and Administrative Policy for the scientific publications of the Military Aviation School "Marco Fidel Suárez." (EMAVI). Its purpose is to regulate data protection, intellectual property, and standardize the processes for the scientific publications of books and articles created by professors, researchers, and students, in coordination with research groups. This is done by the requirements of the Ministry of Science and Ministry of Education, with social and environmental responsibility, thus supporting the school's positioning as a higher education institution working towards High-Quality Accreditation, while also responding to the expectations and needs of the country, the Air Force, and the world. In compliance with the Institutional Improvement Plan of the School in 2017 and the Institutional Strategic Plan of the Colombian Air Force 2010-2030, specifically under objective 8.3, Strategic Objective No. 2: Human, Scientific, Technological, and Cultural Development, which promotes technological development in the aerospace field and the national aeronautical industry, the creation of the Editorial Committee was established through Minute 009 dated June 28, 2018. This committee approves editorial and administrative policies, guaranteeing the academic quality of editorial projects that generate institutional visibility and impact. The Publishing House, through the Professional or Support Advisor for managing scientific publications, accompanies professors, researchers, and military personnel in the process of stimulating and regulating the generation of new knowledge products and their transfer so that they can be shared across various media and platforms, such as institutional social networks, book fair launches, and other academic events at both national and international levels. This is facilitated by agreements and representation with entities that promote, market, and distribute academic university material, as well as by managing the creation of strategic partnerships for co-publishing agreements. This process includes obtaining ISBN registration, finding peer reviewers endorsed by the Ministry of Science with the necessary knowledge, relevance, and suitability to evaluate manuscripts, registering the legal deposit of publications with entities responsible for preserving and making available the national bibliographic and documentary heritage. Additionally, it involves organizing APA norms workshops and bibliographic manager training, advising and reviewing articles for submission to indexed journals, and disseminating current Call for Papers announcements. Other administrative tasks related to editing, publishing, and printing the works are also handled. Channels for scientific dissemination To strengthen legitimacy, position the institution’s image, and make its efforts visible to internal and external audiences and stakeholders, the Colombian Air Force has established the use of institutional social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, the website, corporate mailing, the Library Repository, Blackboard, and the Public Forces Library System (SIBFuP). These platforms are used to share all editorial, research, and cultural production from the Publishing House and EMAVI with the academic community. In addition, following the initiatives of the Ministry of Science and the Colombian Scientific Information Network on Open Science in Colombia, which advocates for academia, government, and research institutes to ensure that science is accessible to all, we are working to update our institutional website. This allows us to host a robust and comprehensive catalog of the school's scientific production for dissemination and visibility. We also aim to have a profile on Google Scholar to showcase our production, research groups, and researchers, ensuring that information is available across all institutional domains, thereby ensuring the interoperability, accessibility, and reliability of an open-access platform. This also includes the possibility of securing resources for DOI assignment, indexing books in databases such as Index Citation Book, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, and more, to enhance academic, scientific, and research activities. Through our subscription to ASEUC (Asociación de Editoriales Universitarias de Colombia), EMAVI has access to printed communication channels, the unilibros.co website, and aseuc.org.co, as well as a profile for the Publishing House in the digital catalog of publications, in addition to ASEUC's social media platforms on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. These channels are used to promote and disseminate the diversity and relevance of academic knowledge and Colombian university books. For the promotion and marketing of works, Redbooks also provides physical and virtual stores for the purchase and consultation of research material, such as RedBooks Bookstore, Lerner Bookstore (Bogotá and Medellín), National University Bookstore (Bogotá), Fondo de Cultura Económica Bookstore, and with GEUP, the independent bookstore “Ambientes de Aprendizaje.”en_US

publisher.peerreviewpolicyFor the publication process, the interested professor, researcher, or student must express their desire to publish their manuscript, which the Editorial Committee will review. To be accepted or returned, the manuscript must meet the editorial requirements and principles outlined in the Editorial and Administrative Regulations. The manuscript must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (Annex 1: Publication Request Format GH-JEAES-FR-688) and classified into one of the following publication types: Research Book, Textbook, Anthology Book, or Scientific Dissemination Book. The proposal must be original and unpublished, with no conflict of interest, and the author must guarantee that no plagiarism or copying of another author's work has occurred. The manuscript must also include an authenticity or similarity report, with a similarity score not exceeding 20%. Each manuscript submitted to the University Publishing House will undergo an evaluation process that includes the following steps: i) editorial evaluation, ii) academic evaluation by external peers (double-blind), and iii) consideration by the Editorial Committee. Once the manuscript(s) are approved for publication with the evaluation from the blind peer review (Format GH-JEAES-FR-687), the author will proceed to sign the Assignment of Economic Rights for Copyright, if they are an active member of the Air Force or in the case of external personnel or contractors, they must submit form GH-JEAES-FR-374. For article submissions, the same procedure is followed as with book manuscripts, but the articles must be classified into one of the following types: Scientific and Technological Research Article, Reflection Article, Review Article, or Short Article. This classification is necessary to provide support throughout the process of improving writing, making appropriate revisions, translating if necessary, copyediting, submitting to an indexed journal based on the topic, and exploring the possibility of funding and publication in journals with or without APC (Article Processing Charge). The Editorial Committee will verify and track the status of proposals, review assigned resources, work with authors to meet commitments and responsibilities, review and modify peer reviewer and committee feedback to continue the process, and establish a schedule of deliverables. This schedule will include fulfilling the obligations of the publication contract provider, which manages peer reviewer payments, ISBN registration, copyediting, design, and layout, and final approval of dummies and final artwork for printing the project, including the number of copies. During Editorial Committee meetings, proposed and ongoing editorial projects that can be published in line with the research lines of academic programs and research groups are presented, taking into account the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and the Air Force's 2042 Air and Space Development Strategy (EDAES FAC 2042). The commitments and activities are recorded in an Editorial Committee Minute, signed by all attendees.en_US
