CASHEW STATUS IN TAMIL NADU

Abstract

Cashew industry has emerged as one of the potential enterprises in accelerating the economic growth of the country. Tamil Nadu ranks sixth in the production of cashew. In order to meet the challenge, the rate of growth of production should be accelerated by adopting intensive development strategies by bringing more areas under cashew and replacing senile plantation with clones of high yielding varieties and also intensive transfer of technology programmes. Cashew statistics in Tamil Nadu High yielding varieties, improved technologies, case studies are available for boosting cashew production are compiled in this book” Cashew-status in Tamil Nadu” which will be useful for all those dealing this with this crop and will serve as useful reference material for students, farmers, extension workers and policy planners.
