publisher.peerreviewpolicyThe core objective of Kiel University Publishing is to publish high-quality and reliable research results that were produced with the participation of researchers of Kiel University in open access and to make them available for long-term use. In principle, all authors and editors must adhere to the CAU guidelines for safeguarding good scientific practice. All submitted manuscripts undergo a subject-specific, expert-based review process before publication, supplemented by technical copy editing procedures on the publisher's side. The design and implementation of the binding review processes are in the hands of the responsible academics and differ to some extent depending on the subject cultures. Nevertheless, all scholars are encouraged to openly communicate the procedures used. The forms of review processes range from double or single blind procedures to forms of open peer review and editorial review.en_US
