Abstract

Osteoporosis is a significant social health problem, not only in terms of pain and disability but also in terms of mortality rate. Osteoporosis affects approximately 200 million people worldwide, with nearly 9 million fractures occurring annually.This book provides an overview of osteoporosis, addressing different aspects of the disease and related conditions. It includes five chapters that cover such topics as glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis, the relationship between osteoporosis and diet, osteoporosis in the dento-maxillofacial complex, and more.
